But sometimes there are things I would like to share with you even if they have nothing to do with wine tours to our Bordeaux region. This January we had a cold period in Bordeaux. This is something that happens more often, but this year there was SNOW in Bordeaux.Since we have been living at Chateau Coulon Laurensac, I have been hoping to be able to take some pictures in the snow.

By the way, it is this chateau we would like to share with you on our Bordeaux wine tours. Our wine tours are usually in the summer so don’t worry about snow in Bordeaux then. I would like to share some of the pictures I took, because I like them so much. Our two boys, Roderick and Alexander went crazy because of the snow. We had to build a snowman on the lawn surrounding the chateau. Of course this picture is also included in this posting. They had ample time to make a snowman because here in the Bordeaux region everything came to an absolute standstill. The schools closed, we lost the power all around. For us the power cut was just a few hours but friends of ours were less fortunate. They were without power for several days. If you have electrical shutters in front of your windows and an electrical garage door etc. it is not easy to get out of your house.

Living in an 18^th century chateau we didn’t have these problems. For us Dutchies it was just a little snow. Our boys were among the few to be at school and I spend most of this day in the Medoc taking pictures of Classified Growths. I will be putting some of those pictures online shortly as well.
